Clear Advantages of Smoke Free Multi-Unit Housing

Three local prevention coalitions, including Winooski Partnership for Prevention, worked to put together informational videos for landlords and property managers about how to go smoke and tobacco-free, outlining the advantages of smoke free housing.

Amy Brewer, Coordinator with the Franklin Grand Isle Tobacco Prevention Coalition, is joined by Michael McCaffrey, Associate Director of Property Management at the Champlain Housing Trust, Joe Villemaire, CEO of Rockstar Property Management, and Chasidy Benjamin, Tobacco Treatment Specialist with Northwestern Medical Center, to explain the transition to smoke-free housing using the personal insights from a local landlord and others who deal with this issue on a daily basis.

Amy Brewer, Coordinator with the Franklin Grand Isle Tobacco Prevention Coalition, is joined by Michael McCaffrey, Associate Director of Property Management at the Champlain Housing Trust, and Chasidy Benjamin, Tobacco Treatment Specialist with Northwestern Medical Center, to explain the process of implementing a smoke-free housing policy. The group also goes into greater detail on how to maintain this policy and keep tenants and their properties safe.
